Yes, Boston Scientific Cardiac Diagnostics has a dedicated team that provides convenient home hookup services, ensuring patients who can’t or prefer not to visit the office can still receive the same seamless care. We also offer 24/7 patient and provider support, for added peace of mind. With a standard 2-day shipment policy, patients can begin monitoring without unnecessary delays.
Patient experience and compliance
BodyGuardian monitors are fully waterproof, lightweight, and discreet – designed so patients can comfortably shower, swim, sleep, and exercise without disruption.
To support comfort and flexibility, BodyGuardian offers multiple adhesive options for sensitive skin and unique clinical use cases. Because adhesives are replaceable, a new patch can be applied at any time without restarting the study, promoting study completion. These design advantages – combined with strong clinical evidence – deliver high diagnostic yields and patient compliance, helping providers capture more accurate results without limiting patients’ everyday routine.
Multiple wear and adhesive options are available, including patch, lead set, and a proprietary patch-like bridge alternative, to fit sensitive skin and different anatomies:
- Easy placement without skin abrasion or alcohol.
- Multiple placement options and flexibility to move and reposition as needed.
- Hydrocolloid strip with small form factor for sensitive skin.
- Patch-like bridge can be used with standard electrodes and lead set.
When used in Holter mode, the BodyGuardian MINI battery lasts for the duration of the study, up to 16 days.1 In MCT mode, the BodyGuardian MINI Plus battery can last up to 7 days and is fully rechargeable.2
When used in MCT or CEM mode, the BodyGuardian MINI Plus is paired with a Wi-Fi-enabled smartphone that connects across multiple cellular networks to best match your patients’ regional coverage. If Wi-Fi is connected, data will transmit seamlessly, even in areas with limited cellular service.
The monitor should be kept within 10 feet (approximately 3 meters) of the smartphone to facilitate wireless communication. If the patient is away from the smartphone, the smartphone battery depletes, or the phone battery depletes, the monitor continues collecting data. The monitor automatically sends the data when the smartphone is back in range.
Boston Scientific Cardiac Diagnostics has secured broad insurance coverage with most major payors. Patients experiencing financial hardship may qualify for additional support programs, guided by dedicated patient advocates. If you or your patients have any questions regarding the program, contact the Patient Benefit Quotes Department at 888-747-4760.
Yes. All BodyGuardian MINI instructions and educational videos are available in English and Spanish, while the BodyGuardian MINI Plus smartphone offers multilingual instructions to help patients feel confident and supported throughout their study.
- Available as a patch, lead set, or patch-like alternative for sensitive skin, BodyGuardian monitors offer multiple placement options and flexibility for patients with sensitive skin or anatomical differences.
- Patients can reposition the device or replace the adhesive without ending the study.
- Audible sounds provide an alert if poor skin contact is detected.
- BodyGuardian monitors are fully waterproof and submersible, so patients can shower, swim, and exercise without disruption.
Clinic workflow & efficiency
The BodyGuardian MINI is one monitor for all modalities. The BodyGuardian MINI can be used for Holter, and the MINI Plus for CEM or MCT, streamlining inventory and training to a single device type. This allows staff to focus more on patient care and less on logistics.
No abrasion or alcohol are required to apply any BodyGuardian adhesives. Staff can apply the patch with minimal preparation and send patients home immediately, improving efficiency and patient comfort.
Yes. Reports are delivered quickly and can integrate with all major EMR systems, giving providers timely insights and reducing the administrative burden.
Monitoring & clinical impact
In MCT mode, the BodyGuardian MINI Plus sends every heartbeat to the cloud in near real-time while the smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network. Providers can act on patient data as it happens – not just at the end of service.
Some devices only record ECG data, which is later available in an end-of-service report once the device is returned. The BodyGuardian MINI Plus not only records but also transmits data in near real-time, which is monitored by Boston Scientific Cardiac Diagnostics’ Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility − empowering providers to intervene when it matters most.
BodyGuardian uses an advanced deep learning algorithm, BeatLogic™, trained on millions of ECGs. This provides faster, more accurate rhythm interpretation, enhancing clinical decision support and improving diagnostic confidence.
Yes, the BodyGuardian MINI is indicated for pediatric patients weighing above 22 lbs. (10 kgs.).3 With multiple wear and placement options, BodyGuardian is designed for patients of different ages, body types, and clinical needs.
Clinical evidence shows that atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other arrhythmias are often missed in shorter studies.4 In a retrospective analysis of 25,000+ patients, 20% of AFib cases went undetected until after day 7, and 10% went undetected until after day 14. Extending monitoring beyond 14 days significantly improves diagnostic accuracy.
